Meet the Artists

Joshua DeMoss

Composer

I’ve loved music for as long as I can remember, but the music I grew up on was film score. There’s something about the soundscapes, the returning motifs, the persevering themes, the story. Film score as a genre has always stuck with me, and much of my writing is characteristically influenced as a result.

Growing up, I was blessed to have lots of church opportunities to explore music. I discovered music production in 8th grade, and eventually went on to study classical music at Wheaton College, where exposure to production courses and professional studios helped sharpen both my creative and technical skills.

Professionally, I started my career in software as a developer, and then a few years down the line, pivoted to missions, where I currently help lead the Media and Arts department at OneWay Ministries to rally millions of Christians toward prayer, praise, generosity, and meaningful action for unreached people groups.

For The Salvation Series, I composed the music, wrote the poems, and created the narrative that guides the listener through the project.

Andrea Jacobsen

Fine Artist & Writer

It all starts with a good story. That’s what I learned in my six years of sales and consulting in the corporate world before starting my professional career as a fine artist in August 2021. I fell in love with the power of storytelling, so that’s exactly what I do today! Granted, my stories now include a lot more paint than before.

My name is Andrea, and I’m a fine artist living outside Nashville, TN, with my husband and pup. My work combines painting and words, both long-form and poetry, to create beautiful stories for the eyes and the soul. For The Salvation Series collaboration, I contributed the artwork, an abstract painting inspired by the composed music and writings by Joshua DeMoss.

A couple of other things to know about me; humor and good wine are must-haves. Good wine may be a stretch, but I like to feel fancy.
